TV Director From Westchester To Be Sentenced For Spying On Teen Nanny

A former television director is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty earlier this year to spying on his teenage nanny using a camera in his Westchester home.

Daniel Switzen, who worked at CNBC and has a home in Pleasantville, will face a term of between one and a half years to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony count of second-degree unlawful surveillance following his arrest last November.

Switzen pleaded guilty to placing a secret camera inside a tissue box in the bathroom of his Pleasantville home on Nov. 13 last year. The camera was discovered by the teenage victim, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said when announcing his guilty plea. Switzen admitted to placing the camera to capture images of the nanny and her friend.

The former television director was initially scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 21. Upon his release from prison, he will also be required to register as a sex offender.
